We’re looking for a Patient Services Lead to help oversee our reception team and support us in delivering safe, compassionate and efficient patient care.

✨ Full‑time – 37 hours per week
✨ Supportive, friendly practice team
✨ Play a key role in improving patient access

What you’ll do:
✔ Lead and support our reception team
✔ Oversee day‑to‑day reception operations and digital telephony
✔ Support staff development, training and rotas
✔ Help us continue improving patient experience

Patient Participation Group Committee Member – VOLUNTEER(s)

Our PPG should consist of a representative sample of Langport Surgery population. To become a member of the PPG, the applicant must:

  • Be a registered patient or a carer of a registered patient
  • Remain objective, contributing to group discussions appropriately with the patient at the forefront of their mind
  • Work in a collaborative manner with all group members
  • Declare any potential conflicts of interests
  • Listen to the views of group members
  • Adhere to the terms of reference for PPG members
  • Commit to upholding the following seven key Nolan principles of public life

Ordinarily, membership will be for an initial term of up to three years. Membership is not restricted to those patients or carers who can attend face-to-face meetings. Members can contribute to discussions via Langport Surgery virtual PPG.

The role of PPG members:

  • Liaise with patients and carers, discussing concerns and comments pertinent to the services at this organisation
  • Champion the PPG, actively engaging with the patient population and local community
  • Attend and contribute to meetings, sending apologies in advance to the secretary in cases of known absence
  • Remain polite and objective throughout meetings, listening to and respecting other members
  • Be constructive and balanced when contributing to PPG meetings
  • Represent the patient population effectively, expressing the views of the population in an objective manner
  • Undertake any training and development opportunities that may arise for the benefit of the PPG

Vice Chairperson

Help lead a friendly, proactive patient group at your local GP practice.

Ideal for someone who:

  • Is confident supporting meetings
  • Can step in when the Chair is unavailable
  • Enjoys teamwork and community engagement
  • Wants to make a positive impact

A low-commitment but meaningful volunteer role.

Secretary

Join our patient group and help strengthen the voice of local patients.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Take clear, accurate meeting notes
  • Help organise agendas
  • Keep simple records and support communication
  • Attend meetings once a month for 1 hr

If you’re organised and enjoy supporting others, we’d love to meet you!

Treasurer

Help our patient group stay active and transparent.

  • Keep basic financial records
  • Support community activities
  • Flexible, low-commitment volunteer role

If you enjoy numbers and want to help your community, we’d love to hear from you!

General Members

Have your say in how we improve our community for our patients!

  • Join meetings once a month to discuss projects and developments within the practice
  • Help to raise feedback to improve services available at the surgery
  • Enjoys teamwork and community engagement
  • Wants to make a positive impact
